- Molecular mechanisms of chromosome rearrangement-associated genomic disorders (functional genomics and bioinformatics, induction of pluripotent cells, transgenic model development);
- Genetic Approach of Infantile Mitochondrial Disease with Targeted Next-Generation Sequencing;
- Study of genes involved in mitochondrial translation factos;
- Study of human gene expression surveillance mechanisms in health and disease;
- Genetic epidemiology of genetic modifiers of rare Mendelian disorders, and of genetic determinants of common multifactorial diseases.
FCT RESEARCHER PROGRAMME 2015
The National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (Ricardo Jorge Institute) is accepting Researchers for the 2015 FCT Investigator Programme. Ricardo Jorge Institute is the Health State Laboratory and does research in several health areas that are part of the internal departments is organized in technical and scientific terms, in six major departments: Food and Nutrition, Infectious Diseases, Human Genetics, Health Promotion and non Communicable Disease Prevention and Environmental Health.
The FCT Investigator Programme aims to support the recruitment of outstanding researchers. For this, Ricardo Jorge Institute accepts to be the host institution, giving to the researcher access to equipment and infrastructures that allow the fulfillment of the proposed activities.
Ricardo Jorge Institute wants to give special attention to the following areas:
- Molecular mechanisms of chromosome rearrangement-associated genomic disorders (functional genomics and bioinformatics, induction of pluripotent cells, transgenic model development);
- Genetic Approach of Infantile Mitochondrial Disease with Targeted Next-Generation Sequencing;
- Study of genes involved in mitochondrial translation factos;
- Study of human gene expression surveillance mechanisms in health and disease;
- Genetic epidemiology of genetic modifiers of rare Mendelian disorders, and of genetic determinants of common multifactorial diseases.
Proposals in other areas that the researcher may find relevant can also be accepted by Ricardo Jorge Institute.
All interested researchers that fill in the requirements present in the FCT Investigator Programme regulation, should send their applications to isabel.oliveira@insa.min-saude.pt, along with the curriculum vitae and a summary of the intended career development and research plans (two pages maximum).
